In northern Finland, in the city of Oulu, you’ll find the dental practice Koulukadun Hammaslääkärit, owned by dentist Anna Pasanen and her husband.
Anna began her journey at the practice working one day a week. But when the former owner asked if she would like to take over, her answer was clear: “I thought it was an opportunity I simply couldn’t say no to.”

After a short period in the original practice, which had only one treatment room, Anna and her team relocated to their current location. Today, the practice offers modern facilities with two fully operational treatment rooms – and a third on the way. The practice is open from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 20:00.

A practice focused on quality and comfort
The practice has grown into a strong team of nine dentists, three dental hygienists, and eight dental assistants. Together, they offer a wide range of treatments – from surgery to prosthetics. Patients come not only from Oulu but also from across Finland, Sweden, and further abroad. “We have many patients every day, and the chair gives them great comfort. Several have said how comfortable it is and how it gives a really pleasant feeling,” says Anna.

Choosing HEKA units
In both the old and the new practice, Anna has worked with Heka units. She highlights reliability and ergonomics as key strengths: “It’s great to use a high-quality unit like the UnicLine S. The light is good, the functions work, and it’s easy to operate. I think it’s the best – it just works.”
The practice works closely with Hammasväline, which has been a key partner in the planning and build of the new practice – down to the smallest details such as electrical installations and water supply.
This collaboration has helped ensure that workflow, ergonomics, and technology all function smoothly in everyday operations – allowing the Heka units to perform at their best in daily use.

A personal touch
One detail that gives the practice a distinctly personal touch is the choice of colour for one of the Heka UnicLine S units. Anna’s husband insisted that the chair should have black upholstery and blue ambient lighting. The inspiration? His passion for Mercedes. “It had to feel like getting into a Mercedes.”

Koulukadun Hammaslääkärit is a modern dental practice where growth continues.
