Thomas: I am Thomas from Heka and I am visiting Dr. Daniel del Solar. Pleased to meet you.
Dr. del Solar: My pleasure Thomas.
Thomas: In this clinic, which is called Oral D.sign, a Heka Pillar has been installed. How did you get to know Heka?
Dr. del Solar: First of all, I was looking for a piece of equipment, which I didn't know was called Heka, but in the end I found it by researching.
I saw it a long time ago and I was struck by its simplicity, simplicity and quality. When I went to set up my practice, thanks to a colleague who told me that there was some equipment called Heka, and well, I didn't pay much attention to it either. But when Javier, the Heka representative, came here in Extremadura, he showed me the equipment, and to my surprise, it was the equipment I was looking for.
I can simply say that it is a very high quality piece of equipment, with a lot of precision and it allows you to control the equipment from the foot pedal, you can change the rotation speed of the micromotor, the scaler settings, you can change spray combinations for air and water, as well as move through the different preset speed settings. For my regular practice this is very important because I work with a microscope, and I need that control without having to take my hands off.
Thomas: For example, the foot control is a bit different from the competition. You can interact with it from any angle, is that a feature you appreciate?
Dr. del Solar: Yes, indeed, because sometimes I operate it with the right foot and sometimes with the left, thanks to its round shape and the fact that it can be operated from any of the 360 degrees. Likewise, controlling the movements of the chair through the joystick located near the feet allows me to position the patient without having to use my hands, a function that is highly valued by me in my daily practice.
Thomas: A special thing for Heka is the specific balancing of each of the springs that support the instrument hoses, so we try to offer a light and smooth feeling when selecting and working with an instrument.
Dr. del Solar: Indeed, you don't feel any kind of force or tension when you hold the instrument, as well as when working with it. This allows you to work with great precision with hardly any effort, and I am also grateful that the spring allows lateral movements and not just forwards, in short, it is very comfortable.
Thomas: And the design of the backrest, this is something that we at Heka think helps you to be able to get very close to the patient.
Dr. del Solar: That's true, especially when the patient has to lie very low, this design allows you to get closer to the patient, it also helps not to have armrests, the patient rests comfortably on the lower part of the backrest, which is wider.
Thomas: This unit, the Pillar model, does not have a cuspidor, in what way does this configuration make your daily practice easier?
Dr. del Solar: The absence of a spittoon gives the assistants a large working space, and in mucogingival surgeries I can "hide" the instrument tray thanks to its large turning radius and thus enter with a surgical table and place it on the patient close to the surgical area. And this space left by the absence of a spittoon allows the auxiliary staff to move around very freely and comfortably.
Thomas: This configuration provides a large amount of free space.
Dr. del Solar: Exactly, it allows the patient to leave the chair wherever they want, it's super comfortable in that respect.
Thomas: I mean, in general, how do you rate the product?
Dr. del Solar: Overall, I couldn't be more satisfied, honestly. I have worked in several teams, in different clinics and I do not do it with the comfort and confidence as working in my team. This is what my team transmits to me, comfort, confidence and precision. To this day I wouldn't change it for any other.
Thomas: Thank you, what about the materials? The powder-coated aluminium and tempered glass, what do they mean to you?
Dr. del Solar: For me, they are components that convey cleanliness, high quality and precision, a lot of precision.
Thomas: You said precision, in what sense?
Dr. del Solar: You can feel the precision of the manufacture when handling the equipment, when moving the arm, there is no slack at all, you can feel firmness and at the same time smoothness, when picking up the instruments, exactly the same lightness and smoothness. Thanks to this construction, when you bring the instrument tray close to you, you can place it precisely where you want it to be very smoothly and effortlessly.
The colour is not altered by cleaning as is often the case with plastics and the glass in the tray is a very clean surface, there are no joints or seams, just a continuous surface, which is also very scratch resistant.
Thomas: Do patients ever comment on the equipment?
Dr. del Solar: ALWAYS, as soon as they enter the office they comment that they are going to sit in a Mercedes, they are very impressed by the comfort. In fact, some of them have even fallen asleep, hahaha! Yes, they come with fear and end up falling asleep.
Thomas: Very good. Thank you for your time and comments.
Dr. del Solar: Thank you very much, Thomas. It is a pleasure for me to be able to count on your support and your technology.
Thomas: Finally, how is the service provided by the local distributor "Dentaltec"?
Dr. del Solar: Dentaltec is always there when we need him. Javier is always very close to us.
Thomas: Perfect, thank you.
Dr. del Solar: Thank you.
